Contributing Artists


Weidong Yang

Weidong Yang has indulged in the fields of science (Ph.D in Physics and MCS Computer Science, 11 US patents, 20+ peer reviewed publications), dance, photography, and Taiji. Having grown up in China and received high education in US, he has experienced two drastically different cultures. Kinetech Arts demands him to tap into all these past experiences. Weidong envisions Kinetech Arts to be a place for synergy of art and technology, as well as for people with vast different background and training, working together creatively, making beauty that is beyond what’s possible by a single person. Aside from Kinetech Arts, Weidong also enjoys his work as data scientist at Kineviz.


Daiane Lopes da Silva

Daiane Lopes da Silva is a dancer, choreographer and the artistic director of Kinetech Arts. Her work has been performed in Brazil, France, Belgium and the U.S.A. In Portugal, she worked with Lisbon Dance Company, Almada Dance Company, and DancArte. In the Bay Area, Daiane performed with Labayen Dance, KUNST-STOFF Dance Company, Copious Dance Theatre, Mudita Arts for Peace and Robert Moses’ Kin. Her residencies include RAW at The Garage, RAD at KUNST-STOFF arts, and Marin Headlands Center for the Arts. Daiane studied with full scholarship at The Municipal Ballet of Sao Paulo and at P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker in Brussels. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology, Alpha Beta Kappa, from SFSU.


Shareen DeRyan

In addition to dancing with Kinetech Arts Company, she works with various local artists around the bay area including Khala Brannigan and Amelia Eisen in Same Roots Company.

Maria Sotnikov

Maria Sotnikova is a dancer, choreographer and teacher from Vladivostok, Russia. For 15 years, she danced with KAURI, a contemporary dance company based in her hometown of Vladivostok. In 2015, Mariia moved to San Francisco to further explore and experiment in the contemporary dance genre and to eventually pursue an MFA in dance. Mariia currently performs with Palanza Dance Company and Kinetech Arts. She is also a founding member and choreographer of TILTshift Dance Theater.


Amelia Eisen

Amelia is a freelance dance artist and choreographer. She studied at Alonzo King's LINES Ballet Training Program and continued on to study, create and perform with Alambrado Danza in Italy and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. Amelia has also worked with Kara Davis' Project Agora, Robert Moses, Joe Landini, Khala Brannigan, Alexandra Kamerling, Maurya Kerr, Ben Bach, M & N Dance Company and more. She is a resident artist at SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts since 2013 and has premiered several original works for RAW(resident artist workshop), and SF's West Wave Dance Festival. Additionally, Amelia holds a Holistic Health Coach certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
